It provides 31 dB of gain (37 dB differential) and 12 GHz of bandwidth in a 50 environment. The TLMA0110G is designed for use in SONET OC-192 and SDH STM-64 receiver/regenerator applications. Amplifier operation is from a single -5.0 V power supply. The TLMA0110G is available as a die or in a 24-lead, hermetic, surface-mount package. Nodes FPI, FPO, FNI and FNO complete the positive and negative internal feedback loops that are used to control the threshold level. These pins can be connected in several different ways. The threshold level can be adjusted by inserting a voltage source between nodes FPI and FPO or FNI and FNO. If the voltage source is inserted between FPI and FPO, then FNI and FNO should be shorted together. If the voltage source is inserted between FNI and FNO, then FPI and FPO should be shorted together. A current source can also be used to control the threshold level. In this case, FPO is shorted to FPI and FNO is shorted to FNI, and the current source is inserted between the positive and negative sides of the feedback loop. If external control of the threshold level is not required, short FPO to FPI and FNO to FNI. This configuration will fix the crossing point at 50%.
