Product Decription
The Impedance Analyzer for Analog Discovery was designed with automatically adjusting
reference resistors and relays to aid in use of the Impedance Analyzer tool in WaveForms. With
the Impedance Analyzer accessory, the Analog Discovery will automatically select the most
appropriate configuration for the attached unknown impedance. The Impedance Analyzer is
loaded with the 2×15 Analog Discovery connector, which makes it compatible with Analog
Discovery 2 as well as Analog Discovery Legacy.

This add-on board makes doing impedance testing so much easier, smoother and faster.
I've used it for testing coils, caps filters etc, and found it to be pretty trustworthy.
A great quick learning tool.
2. More accurate than I expected

The board works fairly well, if you do the open-circuit and short-circuit compensation. I
think that the reference resistors are mostly 0.2% components (accuracy is not specified on
the data sheet).
I was a little surprised by the use of latching relays with up to 100mΩ contact resistance—
lower resistance is possible with FET switches.
The connector used for DUT requires long leads (a shorting plug made with double-ended
male headers was not long enough to reach the contacts), which may cause problems for
measuring some components, requiring adding extra wiring.
