3 Anwendungsbereich
Übersicht
Das Sof tware-Paket SIM ATIC NET S7-REDCONNE CT ver bindet ein hochverfüg-
bares SIMA TIC S 7-System ( z. B . CPU 417 H) mit Anwenderprogrammen auf dem
PC (z. B. WinCC). Bei de Systeme können hier z u im Idealfall über ein redundantes
Netz miteinander verbunden sein.
S7-REDCONNECT kann auch dann eingesetzt werden, wenn hochverfügbare
SIM ATIC S7-Systeme an nichtredundanten Netz en betrieben werden. Ebenso i st
der gemischte Bet ri eb v on redundanten und ei nfach ausgelegten S7-Systemen
m öglic h (letzter es nur über nicht redundante Verbindungen).
Eigenschaften
Das Sof tware-Paket SIM ATIC NET S7-REDCONNE CT besitzt folgende Ei gen-

• St ör ungserkennung, ggf. Um schalt ung, Komm unik ationsüberwachung und

4 Hochverfügbare S7-Verbindungen
Einführung
Die V erfügbar k eit der K ommunikati on k ann dur c h Medi enr edundanz , Verdoppe-
lung der Teilkomponenten oder Ver doppelung aller Netzk om ponenten erhöht wer-
den, zum B eispi el CP U, CP oder Netz.
Arbeitsweise
Standard-S7-Verbindungen
Ei ne Standar d- S 7- V er bindung wird über einen nichtredundant en V er bindungsweg
(CP-Netz-CP ) auf gebaut.
Hoch verf üg bare Verbind ungen
Ei ne hoc hv erfügbar e V er bindung besteht im G egensatz daz u aus mindestens zwei
unterlagerten, r edundanten Verbindungs wegen.
Überwachungs- und Synchr onisationsmec hanism en sorgen daf ür , dass bei Ausf all
des aktiven Verbindungsweg s automatisch der passive (redundante) Ver bin-
dungs weg die K ommunikati on über nim m t. Die Verbindung selbst bleibt bestehen.
Leitungsbrucherkennung
Die Zeit, innerhalb der ei ne Leitungsunterbrec hung er k annt wird, liegt unter 1 s bei
aktivem Datenv er k ehr auf diesem Verbindungsweg.
Nach dem erk annten Leitungsbruch werden die H- spezifischen Pr otokollsiche-
rungstei le durc hlauf en.
Je nach Anz ahl der aufgebauten und verwendeten Produktivver bindungen auf dem
PC, k ann diese Sequenz länger als 1 s andauern.
Skalierba re Redundanz
Die Redundanz der hoc hverfügbar en V er bindung k ann dur c h E r höhung der A nz ahl
der CPs und Anzahl der eingesetzten Netz e er höht werden.

S7-Stati onen als auch die in den PCs verwendeten Benutzer-Applikationen und
SIMATIC NET -Netzwerkkarten.
Danach können für die einz elnen Applik ationen di e zugehörigen hochverfügbar en
S7-Ver bindungen projektiert werden:
• Nach dem S peicher n in HW Konfig parametri er en Si e für die CPs mit STE P 7,
NetPr o die Adressen und v er binden die CPs mit den zugehörigen Subnetzen.
• Für den P ar am eter Verbindungstyp wählen Sie „S7-Ver bindung hochverfügbar“ .
• Im Ei genschaftendial og wählen Si e dur c h Aktivi eren des Kontrollkästc hens
„max. CP-Redundanz “ , ob Sie eine 2- oder 4-W ege- Redundanz für diese Ver-

3 Area of Application
Overview
The SIMA TI C NET S 7- REDCONNE CT soft ware package links a fault - tolerant
SIM ATIC S7 system (for example, CP U 417 H) wi th user programs on the PC (for
ex am ple,W inCC). Ideally, both systems can be i nterconnec ted over a redundant
network.
S7-REDCONNECT can also be used when fault -tolerant SIMA TI C S7 systems are
operated on non- r edundant networks. Mixed operation of r edundant and non-
redundant S 7 systems is al so possible (the latter only over non- r edundant
connections).
Characteristics
The SIMA TI C NET S 7- REDCONNE CT soft ware package has the foll owing
characteristics:
• Fault detec tion and failov er , monitoring of the communic ati on and
synchroni z ati on ar e transparent for the user program.
• The user progr am, f or example SIM ATIC HMI WinCC, communicat es with the
fault-t olerant system in exactly the sam e way as wit h a standard system.
• S7-RE DCONNECT provides the sam e S7 user interface ( S 7 c ommunicati on) as
other S IMATIC NET S7 software products for PCs.
• PG functions
• Existing Windows user programs can conti nue to be used.
• Using stat us queries, a user pr ogr am can monit or the stat us of redundant
communication over the S 7 programm ing interf ac e.
• The status of a connection can be display ed with the aid of the diagnostic tool.
• Configurable 2-path and 4-pat h redundancy ac c or ding to the c onfigurati on with
STEP 7.

4 Fault-Tolerant S7 Connections
Introduction
The availability of communic ation can be incr eased by medium redundancy ,
doubling som e or all net work components, for example, CPU, CP, or network.
Ho w It Wo rks
Standard S7 Connections
A standard S7 c onnec ti on is establ ished vi a a non-redundant c onnec ti on path
(CP-network-CP).
Fau lt-Tol erant Connections
A fault-t oler ant connection, on the other hand, c onsi sts of at least t wo underl yi ng
redundant c onnec ti on paths.
Moni toring and synchr onization mechanisms ensure t hat if the active redundant
connect ion pat h fails, the passive (redundant ) c onnec tion path takes over the
communication autom atically. The connection itself is ret ained.
Wire Break Detection
The time within whic h a wir e br eak i s detected is less than 1 s with active data
traff ic on this connect ion pat h.
After a wir e br eak is detec ted, the back up sect ions of the prot oc ol specif ically for H
systems are run through.
Depending on the number of produc tive connections established and used on the
PC, this sequence can take longer t han 1 s.
Scalable Redundancy
The redundanc y of the fault - tolerant connect ion can be increased by i nc r easi ng the
num ber of CPs and the num ber of net works used.
The f ollowing redundant S7-RE DCONNECT connections can be confi gur ed with
STEP 7:

protoc ol wit h RFC 1006 is not supported.

STEP 7 Configuration
Enter all the hardware components you are usi ng in your programmable controller
in STE P 7, HW Config. This incl udes not only the CPs in the SIM ATIC S7 stations
but also the user applic ation and SI MATI C NET network cards used in the P Cs.
You can t hen c onfigure t he fault - tolerant S7 connections f or t he indiv idual
applications:
• Af ter savi ng in HW Config, set the addresses f or the CPs with STEP 7 NetPr o
and connect the CPs to the relevant subnets.
• For the connection type parameter, selec t "S 7 c onnec tion, fault- tolerant ".
• In the properties dialog, deci de whether y ou want 2- or 4- path redundancy for
this connection by checking "max. CP redundancy" .
Using Save and Compile in NetPro, generate the databases (SDB s and XDB fil es).
Download the generat ed databases to t he S 7 stations and download or import
them to the configur ed P C stations.

1.1 OPC Client-Setup fü r DCOM-Betrieb
DCOM-Betrieb
Für den DCOM-Betrieb muss auf dem Client-Rechner eine Minimal-Installation
durchgeführt werden. Dabei werden die benötigten und von der OPC-Foundation
bereitgestellten Komponenten und der OPC-Scout installiert und registriert.
Nach der Installation muss der DCOM-Betrieb eingerichtet werden. Beachten Sie
dazu das entsprechende K apitel im Handbuch „ Industrielle Kommunikation mit
PG/PC“ bz w. die HTML-Online-Hilfe.
Vorgehensweise
Gehen Sie bitte wie folgt z ur Installation der S oftwar e für den OPC-Client-Rechner
vor:

Der OPC-Server baut die not wendigen F MS-Verbindungen unmi ttelbar nach dem
Ei nfügen des ersten It ems ei ner V er bindung auf. Fügt man Items, die vielen Ver -
bindungen z ugeor dnet sind, in eine Gr uppe ein, so müssen nacheinander viel e
Verbindungen aufgebaut werden.
Im Normalfall umfasst der Ver bindungsaufbau auch das Laden des Obj ek tver-
zei c hnisses vom P ar tnergerät. Dieser Vorgang nimmt in Abhängigkeit von der
Projekt ierung des Partnergeräts erhebl iche Zei t i n A nspruch, so dass unter Um-
ständen die Über wachungszeit ei ner V er bindung ablaufen k ann. Das hat zur Fol -
ge, dass der OPC-S er ver diese Verbindung wieder abbaut und die Ver bindung
nic ht benutz t werden kann.
In diesem Fal l sollten di e Obj ek tverzeichnisse der Partner ger äte unabhängi g vom
OPC- B etrieb i n der P r ojektierung festgelegt werden.

1.1 OPC Client Setup for DCOM Operation
DCOM Operation
For DCOM operati on, a mini mum install ati on is requi r ed on the cli ent comput er .
This involves install ing and registering t he r equired c omponents provided by the
OPC Foundation and t he OPC Sc out.
Foll owing install ation, DCOM operati on must be set up. For mor e infor mati on,
refer to the r elevant to chapt er in t he “ Industrial Comm unicati on with PG /PC”
m anual or the section i n the HT M L online hel p.
Procedure
To instal l t he soft ware for the OP C c lient c omputer, fol low the steps outl ined
below:

1 St ar t your c omputer wit h M icr osoft Wi ndows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0.
2 Log on as administrat or with the Windows sy stem.
3 Insert the SI M A TIC NE T CD i n y our CD- ROM drive.
4 Exit the i nstallat ion progr am if it is started automatically fr om the CD.
5 Go to the fol der “ \sw\opc_c lient\di sk1” on the SI M A TIC NE T CD.

Large Numbers of Connections and La rge Object Dictionaries
The O P C S er ver establishes the requir ed FMS c onnec ti ons i mmediat ely after the
fi r st it em of a connecti on is added. I f you add items to a gr oup and they are
assigned to a l ot of connec ti ons, a lot of connec ti ons must be establ ished one after
the ot her .
Normal ly, connection establ ishm ent al so i nvolves loading the object di c tionary
from t he par tner device. Depending on t he c onfi gur ati on of the par tner device, thi s
can tak e a c onsi der able t ime and it is quite possi ble t hat a connecti on will time out.
If thi s happens, the OPC Ser ver terminates the c onnec ti on and the connec ti on
cannot be used.
In t his case, the object di c tionaries of the part ner devices should be included i n the
loc al confi gur ati on independent of OP C oper ati on.
Rem ember , however, that if any c hanges are made t o the configurati on of the
partner device that involve the object di c ti onar y , the locally confi gur ed object
dic ti onar y must also be updated.
Establishing Asymmetrical FMS Connections
The asymmetr ical FMS c onnec ti ons i nc lude t he c onnec ti ons with the connecti on
att r ibut es I- D ( I i s act ive partner), I- O (I is active partner) and D- O (D is active
partner ) . They ar e c alled asym metrical because the two stat ions that take part in
communi c ati on on these connect ions have different r oles duri ng establishment.
Whi le either of the end stati ons can establi sh the c onnec ti on ac ti vely to the par tner
on the most common type of connect ion (D- D) , the r ole of active connec ti on
establishm ent on an I- D c onnec ti on is reserved only for t he I part ner . If these
differing roles are not taken into ac c ount when defining t he c onfigur ati on,
connect ion establi shment may fail .
