3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Item requirement s. The indiv idual item requirem ents shall be in accorda nce with MIL-PRF- 38535, a ppendi x A for non-JAN
class leve l B devices a nd as s pecified herein. Product buil t to this dra wing that is produced by a Quali fied Manuf acturer Lis ting
(QM L) certified a nd qualified m anufacturer or a manufa cturer who ha s bee n granted transitional certification to MIL-PRF-38535
ma y be process ed as Q M L product in a ccordance with the m anufa cturers approved pr ogram plan and qua lifying activity a pproval
in accordance with MIL-PRF-38535. This QML flow as docum ented in the Quality M anage m ent (QM ) plan may make
modifi cati ons to the requirements herein. These modifications shall not affect form, fit, or function of the device. These
modifications shall not a ffect the PIN as des cribed he rein. A "Q" or "QML" certification ma rk in accordance with MIL-PRF-38535 is
require d to identify when the QML flow option is use d.
3.2 Design, constr uction, a nd phys ical dimens ions. The de sign, construction, and phy sical dime nsi ons sha ll be as spe cified in
MIL-PRF-38535, a ppendi x A a nd herein.
3.2.1 Ca se outline s. The case outlines sha ll be in accordance with 1.2.2 herein.
3.2.2 Te rmi nal connections. The termi nal connections shal l be as s pecified on figure 1.
3.3 Electrical pe rformance cha racteristics. Unless otherwise specified herein, the electrical performance characteristics are as
specified in table I and s hall apply ove r the full ambie nt operating tempera ture range.
3.4 Electrical test re quirements. The el ectrical tes t requirements sha ll be the subgroups spe cified in table II . The e lectr ical tests
for e ach subgroup are describe d in table I.
3.5 Marking. Ma rking sha ll be in accordance with MIL-PRF-38535, appendix A. The pa rt shall be mar ked with the PIN l isted in
1.2 herein. In addition, the manuf acturer's PIN ma y a lso be mar ked as listed in MIL-HDBK-103 (see 6.6 herein). For packa ges
where ma rking of the entire SMD PIN num ber is not fe asible due to space limita tions, the manufacturer has the option of not
ma rking the "5962-" on the de vice.
3.6 Certificate of compli ance. A certificat e of compli ance s hal l be required from a m anufacturer in orde r to be listed as an
approv ed source of supply in MIL-HDBK-103 (see 6.6 herein). The certificat e of compliance s ubmitte d to DSCC-VA prior to listing
as an approve d source of s upply sha ll affirm t hat the manuf acturer's product me ets the requireme nts of M IL-PRF-38535, appendix
A and the requireme nts herein.
3.7 Certificat e of conformance . A certificate of confor m ance a s re quired in MIL-PRF-38535, appendix A s hall be provided with
each l ot of microcir cuits delive red to this drawing.
3.8 Notification of change. Notif ication of cha nge to DSCC-VA shall be required in accordance with MIL-PRF- 38535, a ppendi x
A.
3.9 Verifi cation and review. DSCC, DSCC's agent, and the acquiri ng activity retain the option to review the manufacturer's
facility and applicable required documentation. Offshore documentation shall be made available onshore at the option of the
revi ewer.

4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Sampling and inspection. Sampling and inspe ction procedures shall be in accordance wi th MIL-PRF- 38535,
appendix A.
4.2 Scre ening. Screening shall be in accordance wi th method 5004 of MIL-STD- 883, and s hall be conducted on a ll de vices
prior t o qual ity conformance inspection. The following a dditional criteria shall apply:
a. Burn- in test, m ethod 1015 of MIL-STD-883.
(1) Tes t condit ion A, B, C, D, or E. The test circuit s hal l be mai nta ined by the manuf acturer under document revision leve l
control and s hal l be m ade avail abl e to the preparing or acquiring activ ity upon reques t. The test circuit shall s pecify the
inputs, outputs, biases , a nd power diss ipation, a s applicable, in accordance with the intent specifie d in test m ethod
1015 of MIL-STD-883.
(2) TA = +125°C, minimum.
b. Interim and final electrical te s t parameters shall be as s pecified in table II herein, except interim ele ctri cal parameter tests
prior t o burn-in are optional at the dis cre tion of the manufa cturer.

4.3 Q uality conformance inspe ction. Quality conforma nce inspection s hall be in accordance with method 5005 of
MIL-STD-883 including groups A, B, C, and D inspe ctions. The following additional criteria shall apply.
4.3.1 Gr oup A inspection.

(1) Test condition A, B, C, D, or E. The test circuit shall be maintained by the manufa cturer unde r document revision

specify the inputs, outputs, biases , and powe r diss ipa tion, a s applicable, in accordance with the inte nt spe cified in
test method 1005 of MIL-STD-883.
(2) TA = +125°C, minimum.
(3) Test duration: 1,000 hour s, except as pe rmitted by method 1005 of MIL-STD-883.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging requirement s. The requirem ents for packaging shall be in accorda nce with MI L-PRF- 38535, a ppendi x A.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. Microcircuits conforming to this dra w ing are inte nded for use for Gov ernment m icrocircuit applications
(original equipm ent), de sign appl ications, and logis tics pur poses .
6.2 Replaceability. Microcircuits covered by this drawing will replace the same generic device covered by a contractor-prepared
specification or drawing.
6.3 Configuration control of SMD's . All proposed changes to existing SMD's will be coordinated with the users of record for the
individual documents. This coordination will be accomplished using DD Form 1692, Engine ering Change Proposal.
6.4 Record of use rs. Military and industria l users shall infor m Defense Supply Center Columbus when a sy stem application
requires configuration control and the applicable SMD. DSCC will maintain a record of users and this list will be used for
coordination and distribution of cha nges to the drawi ngs. Users of draw ings cove ring microelectronics dev ices (FSC 5962) shoul d
contact DSCC-VA, te lephone (614) 692-0544.
