ST EEPROM products are the standard of reference in the industry, built with sub-micron
technology and offering leading performances. The ranges include serial access EEPROMs with
the 400 kHz, I
2
C low cost, 2-wire bus and densities up to 512 Kbit; fast 1 MHz MICROWIRE bus
types at densities from 256 bit to 16 Kbit; and very fast 5 MHz SPI bus types with densities up to
256 Kbit.
The I
2
C types are suitable for low cost, 2-wire bus applications that do not require fast bus speeds
- up to 400 kHz, they feature high densities with extended addressing above 16 Kbit. The
MICROWIRE types feature a fast 1 MHz bus, but are limited to 16 Kbit density.
For fast applications the SPI bus is preferred, offering 5 MHz operation together with high density
types up to 256 Kbits.
