The GN2405A is a quad repe ater/re-timer device designed to enha nce the reach a nd robustness of high
speed serial links by compensating for transmission losses and re -setting the cro sstalk and jitter budget.
The GN2405A feature s Ge nnum's prove n reference-free CDR architecture w hich simplifies system design a nd
reduces overall cost. Each cha nnel supports independent locking to da ta rates from 9.95 - 11.3Gb/s. To
enable backw ard compatibility w ith legacy data rate s, half rate (5Gb/s) and quarter rate (2.5Gb/s) operation
is also supported. Other rate s can be supporte d using the re-timer bypa ss feature.
The GN2405A can be used in multiple applications. It can be use d as a CDR in parallel optical modules or in
active coppe r cable asse mblies. It’s flexible de-empha sis drive r and jitter pe rformance a re ideal for use a s a
line card or backplane repe ater.
