Features and Benefits
High Accuracy and Linear it y over W ide Tem per at ure Range
The voltage output f or each axis of t he 23200A is directly propor tional to
the acceleration along that axis. Each DC-coupled output is fully scaled,
refer enced, and t em per atur e com pensat ed. A f or ce- balanced design
improves accuracy by m inimizing variations due to tem perat ur e and aging
effect s, r esulting in a sensor that is more st able over tem per atur e t han
piezoelectric or piezoresistive devices. For critical applications, the built-in
temper at ur e sensor with very high repeatab ilit y c a n b e u s e d t o
compensate f or any residual temperat ur e eff ect s.
Calibration Certificate
Each 23200A can be supplied with an optional calibration certificate listing
gain, offset , and on-axis and tr ansver se alignment par am eter s needed t o
ensure rapid and eff icient system im plement ation. The alignment dat a can
be used to compensat e t he m easur ed values if needed.
Self- Test on Di gi ta l Command
A TTL-com patible self-test input causes a simulated acceleration to be
injected into both acceleromet ers t o ver ify channel integrity.
Smal l Si ze
Complete conditioned bi-axial accelerometer in less than a cubic inch.
Built - i n Pow er Suppl y Regul ati on
A single regulated +5 volt or an unr egulated DC power source fr om +5. 25
to +30 volts is all that is required to m easure accelerat ions on both axes.
The 23200A is ideal for automotive applications with the ability t o s u rviv e
both continuous rever se bat ter y t o - 20V and load dump tr ansients t o
+60V.
Easy instal l at i on
Built-in term inal block or cable with 9-pin connector makes it easy t o wire
the 23200A. Two thr ough holes and four tapped holes simplify mount ing.
Suitabl e f or Harsh Envi r onm ent s
The 23200A is robust and can be used in harsh environment s. The unit
will su rviv e 500 g power ed and 2000 g unpowered.

Simplify Acceleration and
Temperature Measurements
The Summ it Instrume nts 23200A
accelerometer has two orthogonal axes and
a tem pe rature sensor in a sma ll rugged
package. The small size and built-in
power regulat ion a ll ow the 23200A to fi t
where other accelerometers can't. A power
source of +5 to +30 VDC is all that is
required to measure temperature and ± 10
g, ± 15 g, ± 20 g, ± 25 g, ± 30 g, ± 50 g or
±75 g accelerations on each of two axes.
When e xtra prec ision is requi red, the high
repeatability of the built-in temperature
allows precise compensation of
temperature effects and alignment data
provided on the opti onal ca li brat ion
certificate can be used to compensate for
transverse sensitivity and alignment errors.
Each axial sensor has been tested over the
-40 to +85°C temperature range. Each axis
has a nomina l ful l sca le output swing of ± 2
volts. The ze ro g output le vel is nomi nal ly
+2.5 volts. Precise values for each axis are
provided on the opti onal ca li brat ion
certi fic at e. Custom ve rsions of the 23200A
can be provi ded for a ppli ca ti ons which
require di ffere nt ra nges and/ or bandwidt hs.
