Precautions for Photocouplers
1 Cleaning
(1) Solvent cleaning : Solvent tem perature 45 or less
Imm ersion for 3 min or l ess
(2) Ultrasonic cl eaning : The ef fect to devic e by ul trasonic cleaning di ffers by cleaning bath s ize, ultrasonic pow er output,
cleaning ti me, PCB size or de vice m ounting condition et c. Please test it in actual using condition
and confi rm that any defect doesn't occur before starting t he ultrasonic cl eaning.
(3) Applicable solv ent : Ethy l alcohol, Me thyl alcohol , Isopropyl alcohol
When the other solvent is used, t here are cases that the packaging resin is eroded.
Please use the other solv ent after thorough confirmati on is performed in actual using con dition.
2. Circuit design
2.1 The LED used in t he Photocouple r generally decreases the l ight emission pow er by operati on.
In case of l ong operation ti me, please desi gn the circuit in considerati on of the degradati on
of the lig ht emission pow er of the LED. (50% /5years)
2.2 There are cases t hat the dev iation of the CT R and the degra dation of the relat ive light em ission power
of the LED increase w hen the setti ng value of IF is less tha n 1.0mA. Please desig n the circuit in co nsideration of t his point.
3. Precautions for Soldering
(1) In the case of fl ow soldering (Whole dipping is possible)
It is re commended that f low soldering sho uld be at 270 or less for 10 s or less
(Pre-heating : 100 to 150, 30 to 80s). (2 times or less)
(2) In the case of h and solderin g
What is don e on the follow ing condition i s recomm ended.( 2 times or le ss)
Soldering i ron temperature : 400 or less
T ime : 3s or less
(3) Other precautions
Depending on equipment and soldering condi tions (tem perature, Using sold er etc.),
the ef fect to the device and the PCB is dif ferent.
Please confi rm that ther e is no problem on the actual use conditions in advance.
