Tactile Button - SMD (6mm)

DESCRIPTION DOCUMENTS
This is an SMD 6mm square SPST button. What we really like is the little button
head and good tactile feel (it ‘clicks’ really well). This button is great for user
input or a good reset button on a PCB. As this is an SMD component make sure
you are well versed in soldering before attempting to incorporate this button into
your project.

SKILLS NEEDED
Core Skill: Soldering
This skill defines how difficult the soldering is on a particular product. It might be a couple simple solder joints, or require special reflow tools.
Skill Level: Competent - You will encounter surface mount components and basic SMD soldering techniques are required.

I’m trying to get a dimension diagram for this, I assume it is the ADTSM6**V on the datasheet, but it doesn’t
look like it reflects the tall button. I’m I looking at the right diagram on the datasheet? is there a more precise
drawing of this?

Excellent little SMD buttons. they click very well and are tall enough for easy clicking, yet not too tall to be
wobbly. I think i will be using these kind of buttons for many of my future projects.

Yeah, both the 6mm and 12mm ones should be in the SWITCH-MOMENTARY-2PTH device
set - you’ll need to make sure you select the right device (the actual switch type) from
there, though :) This one should be the TACTILE-PTH TACTILE_SWITCH_TALL one.

I’m a little bit confused… I am just about to make a list of all the parts for my pcb and
was looking for this one. I don’t understand why it says PTH if it’s SMD. Please explain
it to me, I’m kinda new to this stuff. Thanks!

PTH versions.

Just an update, inspecting the board I have figured out that Eagle has definitely
made holes for this button. Also, I have sent my board for production. Maybe if
this is the wrong button, we can find the right one? Thanks!

Thankfully, you should be able to use Mini Pushbutton Switch instead. If not,
as you’ve sent off for the boards to be made, let me know and I’ll happily
pay for new boards.
