Rapid Deployment and Availability
Provides transparent, simple installa-
tion without the need to reconfigure
web browsers when used with a 3Com
SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 or 4924.
The switch automatically discovers the
webcache and forwards all appropri-
ate web traffic. It can also detect web-
cache failure, diverting traffic directly
to the Internet, and ensuring no net-
work connectivity issues.

The 3Com Web Scheduler (patent
pending) is a unique Internet Explorer
plug-in application included with the
webcaches. It allows non-technical
users to download content in ad v ance,
guaranteeing web content is available
quickly even during high-bandwidth
usage hours.
The optional SuperStack 3 Webcache
Web Site Filter subscription service
enhances the integral filtering within
the webcaches through automatic
updates from a database of millions of
URLs defined in 20 categories. The
database is meticulously maintained,
so administrators can provide the
highest quality of content filtering by
simply clicking on a content category.
