Mounting directionsforswitchand pushbutton
unit
1. Insert the pushbutton unitinthe switch unitsothat the circular
shaped clawoutside the projection of the switch unitmates
withthe clawon the upperpartof the switch unit.
2.The pressure applied during the insertion should be 2.5kg
max.
Note:If the LEDterminal isbent , itmaynotalign withthe mating
hole.Beforeinsertion,check tosee ifanyLEDterminal is
bentand, ifso, straighten it. The inserting direction of the

torunit. Payattention tothe mounting direction of the legend
plate.

While holding the recessedportionsonbothsides,firmlyandsteadily
pull out the top of the pushbutton unitwithyourthumb and forefinger.

Nutmounting
·Insert the switch unit fromthe frontof the paneland tighten the
mounting nutinserted fromthe rearof the panel.
·Sinceaprojection existsontherearportion ofthe switchunit, ifthe
mounting unitcannotbe fitted into position, turnthe nutslightly.
·The tightening torque of the mounting nutshould be less than
5kg--cm.
·Solderthe terminalsaftermounting the nut. Otherwise, the
terminals, when thickened by solder, mayprevent the nut from
being screwed down ontothe switch unit.

Wiring
·Finishsoldering within 5 secondswith a 30 watt soldering iron,or
within 3 secondsatasoldertemperature of240_C.To avoid
deforming the softened plastic switch unitbase,do notapplyany
forcetothe switch unit foraboutaminute aftersoldering.
·Use a non-corrosive,resin-based soldering flux.
Hintson CorrectUse
LED
·Because no resistorisincorporated inthe LEDof the lighted
pushbutton switch,connectan appropriate externalresistor.
·Makesurethat the resistance of the resistoriswithinthe
permissiblerange determined bythe LEDcharacteristics.The
forwardcurrentof the LEDmustbe 8mAminimum.
·The resistance of the externalresistorcan be obtained bythis
equation:R=E--VF/IF(W)
where,
E:operating voltage (V)
VF:LEDforwardvoltage (V)
IF:LEDforwardcurrent(mA)
Determine the resistance of the externalresistorthatsatisfiesthe
characteristics of the LED.However, the average LEDforward
currentmustbe 8mAormore.
·Example ofresistancecalculation
When using a red LED whereE=24V, IF=20mAand Ta=25_C,
fromthe VFvs. IFcharacteristics on the right, forwardvoltage VF
is1.7V,when 20mAof IFflowsthrough the LED.Substituting
thesevaluesforthe variablesinthe above equation,
R=24(V) -- 1.7(V)=1111(W)
0.02(A) (or20mA) (or1.1kW)
Therefore, the estimated resistanceis1kW,1W.
