High-tension Lines
Do notwire powerlinesorhigh-tension linesalongside the linesof
the Sensorinthe sameconduit, otherwisethe Sensormaybe
damaged ormaymalfunction due toinduction.Besuretowirethe
linesof the Sensorseparated frompowerlinesorhigh-tension
linesorlaidin an exclusive,shielded conduit.
Turning thePowerON
The Sensorneeds100 mstobereadyto operate afteritisturned
ON.The devices connected tothe PhotoelectricSensormustwait
until the Sensorisreadyto operate. If the Sensorand load are
connected toseparate powersupplies,be suretoturnONthe
Sensorfirst.
PowerSupply
If astandardswitching regulatorisused,be sureto ground the FG
(frame ground)and G(ground)terminals,otherwisethe Sensor
maymalfunction due tothe switching noise of the regulator.
Wiring
Cable
·The bending radiusof the cableshouldbe25mm min.
·Inacasewherethe cableisextended,useawirewith 0.3mm2
min.The total length of the cableshould be 100 m max.
Avoiding Malfunctions
If using the photoelectric sensorwithaninverterorservomotor,be
sureto ground the FG(frame ground)and G(ground)terminals,
otherwisethe Sensormaymalfunction.
Mounting
Mounting Conditions
·If Sensorsaremounted face-to-face,makesurethatno optical
axescrosseachother.Otherwise,mutualinterferencemayresult.
·Besuretoinstall the Sensorcarefully sothat the directionalangle
range of the Sensorwill notbe directlyexposed tointensivelight,
such as sunlight, fluorescentlight, orincandescentlight.
·Do notstrikethe PhotoelectricSensorwith a hammeroranyother
toolduringthe installationof theSensor,ortheSensorwilllooseits
water-resistive properties.
·UseM3screwstomount the Sensor.
·Whenmounting thecase,makesurethat the tightening torqueap-
plied to eachscrewdoesnotexceed 0.54 N×m.
M8Connector
·Besuretoconnectordisconnect the M8connectorafterturning
OFF the Sensor.
·Besureto holdthe connectorcoverwhen connecting ordiscon-
necting the M8connector.
·Securethe M8connectorbyhand.Do notuse anypliers,other-
wisethe connectormaybe damaged.
·If the M8connectorisnotconnected securely, the M8connector
maybe disconnected by vibration orthe properdegree ofprotec-

If the sensing objecthasa glossy surface, incline the Sensorby5°
to 10°as shown below, provided that the Sensorisnotinfluenced
byanybackground objects.
Glossy object
If thereisamirror-like objectbelowthe Sensor, the Sensormay
notbe instable operation.Therefore,incline the Sensororkeep
the Sensora distance awayfromthe mirror-like objectas shown
